Suitcase Fusion "server is unavailable" or "connection has timed out" error is encountered when attempting to log in to Suitcase Fusion 7

Issue
When attempting to log in to Suitcase Fusion an error of “Failed to connect to server because the connection has timed out. The Server is currently unreachable, please try again later.” is displayed at the bottom of the login screen.

 

Solution
This issue is typically related to a permissions issues not allowing for connections to the server. Please use the following steps to resolve the issue:

Restart your computer with the Command and S keys held down, and enter the following commands at the prompt:
 
mount -uw /
chown root /
chmod 1775 /
exit
